Following the impactful debut of John Abraham and his motorcycle in the first installment, the second movie showcased Hrithik Roshan and his disguises, while the third introduced Aamir Khan in an unprecedented avatar. Not surprisingly, various rumors have emerged about the casting for the fourth installment, with some suggesting that Shah Rukh Khan will play the main antagonist. However, despite the absence of official updates on this matter, the discussion has now shifted to John Abraham’s return to the Dhoom franchise.
John Abraham returns to YRF’s Dhoom franchise
Providing insights into the matter, a reliable industry source informed News Live Updates, “Earlier this year, John Abraham broke barriers with his performance in the movie Pathaan, starring Shah Rukh Khan. His portrayal of the main antagonist garnered significant attention, and the audience loved his performance. Thus, if Yash Raj Films intends to cast him again in a negative role, it would not be surprising.” When asked about the authenticity of these rumors, the source responded, “There might be more truth to it than any other rumor. In fact, YRF has been conducting daily meetings for the past couple of days, and John has been spotted attending these meetings on multiple occasions. If anything is finalized, it will be announced during one of these gatherings.”
Interestingly, the source also pondered on the reasons behind John Abraham’s potential return to the Dhoom franchise, stating, “If you recall, the climax of the previous Dhoom movie was open-ended. It was unclear whether John’s character had died or managed to escape. This element of uncertainty could be utilized to bring him back in the fourth Dhoom installment.” While it might provide closure to the storyline, one wonders if the two films would be linked through a flashback sequence, revealing what happened to his character in the intervening period.
Despite the rising speculation about John Abraham’s comeback in Dhoom 4, an official confirmation regarding this development is still pending.
