Qualcomm recently released the Snapdragon X Elite, its latest computing processor for PCs. This powerful processor is equipped with the all-new Oryon CPU and boasts advanced on-device AI capabilities. The Snapdragon X Elite processor features a 4nm System-on-a-Chip architecture and 12-core Qualcomm Oryon CPUs. With all cores clocked at 3.8GHz and a dual-core boost of up to 4.3GHz, it offers twice the CPU performance of a 10-core laptop CPU while consuming significantly less power. Additionally, it includes the Adreno GPU for graphics processing.
The Snapdragon X Elite integrates Qualcomm’s AI technologies, such as the Qualcomm AI Engine with the integrated Qualcomm Hexagon NPU. This enables the processor to run generative AI LLM models with over 12 billion parameters on-device. It also incorporates a micro NPU within the Qualcomm Sensing Hub for enhanced security and privacy, including the ability to wake up devices from sleep mode.
The processor provides intelligent security features, including the Qualcomm Secure Processing Unit running Microsoft Pluton TPM, total memory encryption, and Microsoft Secured-core PC support, ensuring the safety and protection of PCs from chip to cloud.
