Aquos Sense 8, the latest offering from Sharp, debuted in Japan on Wednesday. This smartphone is available in a single storage configuration and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset. Running on Android 13, it comes with a dual rear camera setup. The Aquos Sense 8 is available in three colors before the release of the Aquos Sense 8 series earlier this year. Sharp introduced the Aquos R8 series, which had a base and pro model, featuring Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Generation 2 SoCs and dual rear camera setups.\

The Aquos Sense 8, offered in Cobalt Black, Light Copper, and Pale Green color options, is available in a single variant with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, and is priced at JPY 62,150 (approximately Rs. 34,700) in Japan.

Flaunting a 6.1-inch full-HD+ (2,400 x 1,080 pixels) IGZO OLED display, the Aquos Sense 8 boasts a refresh rate of 90Hz and a brightness of 1300 nits. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Generation 1 Mobile Platform SoC, coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of built-in storage, expandable up to 1TB via a microSD card. The device runs on Android 13 out-of-the-box. Sharp guarantees three major OS updates along with five years of security patches.

In terms of photography, the dual rear camera setup of the Aquos Sense 8 sports a 50-megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS) and an 8-megapixel sensor equipped with an ultra-wide-angle lens. For selfies and video calls, there is an 8-megapixel front camera.

The Aquos Sense 8 packs a 5,000mAh battery, which is said to deliver up to 10 hours of usage. It supports 5G, Wi-Fi 5, NFC, and Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity. To ensure security, the phone features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and it also retains a 3.5mm headphone jack. The device comes with an IP68 rating and is MIL-STD-810G certified.
