In a Weibo post on Monday (October 23), Xiaomi confirmed that the Xiaomi 14 series will be launched next week. The Chinese company’s upcoming operating system will also make its debut on this new lineup. Although only the Xiaomi 14 series has been mentioned, it is anticipated that it will include both the regular Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro, which are the successors to the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro, respectively. These upcoming flagship smartphones are expected to feature Leica-optimized rear camera units. It is widely speculated that the Xiaomi 14 series will be powered by an undisclosed Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC.
The official unveiling of the Xiaomi 14 series will take place on October 26. As per the teaser poster shared on Weibo by the company, the launch event will commence in China at 19:00pm (4:30pm IST). The lineup will introduce HyperOS and a new camera system, co-engineered with Leica.
Xiaomi’s 14 series will be the pioneer in running the HyperOS operating system, and this new skin will gradually replace MIUI. The Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro are expected to be launched as the successors to last year’s Xiaomi 13 series.
According to previous leaks, the regular Xiaomi 14 is rumored to feature a 6.44-inch Huaxing C8 OLED display with 1.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. On the other hand, the Pro model might come with a 6.6-inch flat AMOLED 2.5D display with 2K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. Both models are expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. It is speculated that Qualcomm will announce the next-generation flagship chipset at the Snapdragon Summit this week.
The Xiaomi 14 series is rumored to sport a triple rear camera setup, consisting of a 50-megapixel OV50H primary camera with OIS. Xiaomi is expected to equip the upcoming Xiaomi 14 with a 4,600mAh battery that supports 90W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging. On the other hand, the Xiaomi 14 Pro is said to house a 4,860mAh battery with support for 120W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging.
